It's with a lot of sadness that we wave farewell to our drummer Jon Harris.
Jon has been with us from those early fledgling days and joined permanently 2 years ago. Recently he has become increasingly busy with other projects so has decided that the hectic 2012 Billy Wears Dresses schedule is not one that he has time for.
We'd all like to thank Jon for his massive contribution to BWD and please check out his website www.jonharrismusic.co.uk to keep abreast of all things Jon Harris.

We had a cracking gig at The Eagle Tavern last night.
We performed "Lay Me By The Lighthouse" for the first time last night, as requested by Billy fans - see, we do listen!

A big big thank you to Sam Jacques for sitting in at the last minute, you are a life saver and a legend!

This Sunday, 24th July, Billy Wears Dresses are live at Earls in Maidstone at 6pm, bring your cameras, video recorders and autograph books. It's going to be another special evening!
I can say no more, so come along and join in the fun.

British Superbikes Update

The June Sunday Madness continued with a radio interview on KMFM, on air we discussed the formation of Billy Wears Dresses, songwriting and forthcoming gigs. We also performed a live and exclusive version of "Sittingbourne Carnival Parade".
Off air Martin ranted about the M20 and the grammatical nuances of Bono.
We'd like to thank Adam & Emma for making us feel welcome and feeding us twiglets, biscuits and last nights pizza (in that order), for playing the single Eddie (My Dad's Bigger Than Your Dad) and letting everyone know it's still available on free download.
Next Sunday sees us performing live in Chilham for the KMFM Charity walk. More details on that soon.

The Promotion Machine Rolls On

Since the release of our second album "You Said It Would And It Did" we've been busy promoting from Brighton to Basildon.
Last Sunday saw us pushing the boundaries of good sense with a set at the Gatorade 10k at Bluewater in Kent at 8am; proving there is no limit to our plugging abilities, especially when the opportunity of playing to a few thousand bystanders comes our way.
This Sunday (12th June) we'll be on KMFM around 2pm to chat about the new album and the hot topics of the day.
The following Sunday (19th June) we'll be performing live in Chilham Kent for another KMFM charity event.

This Thursday, 31st of March, sees the release of Billy Wears Dresses second album "You Said It Would And It Did". The launch party is at The Eagle in Rochester, the city's premier music venue. The band will hit the stage at 9 so get there early to buy your copy of the CD.

"The 16 tracks on what really is a double album, have a diversity and spirit that is almost non-existent in these genre based times. Nick spoke of it as being our Sgt. Pepper but maybe it's more like Stevie Wonder's Songs In the Key Of life and The Clash's London Calling. We've let the songs drive how we've recorded them; which has led to, what will be for some, a few sonic surprises. There are four songs on this album that we didn't have time to record for Spacehopper Summer, the rest are all new songs. We started the album last August, just getting the reference tracks down and getting the drums recorded, while Nick cooked, cleaned and repaired Jon's car, occaisionally doing a vocal take and exposing Martin's porn collection. Then we spent the winter getting it to where it is now, it's taken a while to finish, down to the lavish production and arrangements for the most part. I'm dreading the studio bill when it arrives!"
